AutoCAD Lab (Computer Aided Civil Engineering Drawing)
The CAD Lab which is completely related to building drawings, is equipped with AutoCAD
software and is extensively used for design and drawing of buildings. The knowledge
gained in the lab eventually equips the students to provide quality service once
employed in the industry or in self business.
Building Drawing Lab
Building planning and drawing lab in civil engineering is used for make the plan
and elevation of any building any structure etc. The various plan model of this
lab are generally Study model of multi-story buildings, Study model of different
components of building like stairs, doors windows, foundations, masonry as well
as 3D view of buildings in Computer lab of Civil department.
Structural lab
In structural lab students analyse various elements of a structure and understand
their behaviour under various types of load conditions. One cannot emphasize on
the importance of structural analysis prior to designing and constructional work.
Students also learn about the applications of these elements inorder to design the
best and the most economic structures.
Surveying Lab
In this lab students learn how to determine the relative positions of points which
is done by predetermined linear and angular measurements. This is important as it
helps understand the details of the site before construction and setting out of
all kinds of engineering works.
Material Testing Lab
The objective of this lab is to understand the strength, characteristics and behaviour
of all the possible materials to be used for construction. This involves testing
of various materials and defining its suitability as building material and also
determining the of use of any alternative materials which might be more suitable
for the job.
Concrete Technology lab
In this lab students will learn how to produce concrete of a given mixture and how
its properties can be modified to suit certain requirements. Students will also
learn how to test samples of concrete to find its ultimate strength.
Road Material Testing lab
This lab teaches students to analyse and understand the nature and characteristics
of materials used for Road construction. The understanding of their nature becomes
imperative as these factors play an important role in determining the strength and
durability of roads.
Environmental Engineering Lab
In this lab students are going to assess the effects of various chemicals. Budding
engineers also need to learn to check the portability of water and to presence and
amount of certain chemicals present in it.
Geo-Technical Engineering Lab
A geotechnical engineer uses his education and experience to guard and maintain
the earth's physical environment with the development of major public and private
projects. Hence this lab emphasises in designing, safe investigation and analysis
of sites and determining their present and future stability.
Engineering Geology Lab
In this lab students will learn to determine and investigate the characteristics
of Rocks and their suitability for construction. For any given construction work
a material must meet certain strength and aesthetic requirements which are exactly
what the focus of the lab is.
Civil Engineering Materials Lab
This lab deals with applications and suitability of all the constructional materials
available. Moreover it deals with study of the latest and the greatest materials
available. From Glasses to flooring one learns about all the choices available and
determination of the best material for the job.
Fluid Mechanics & Hydraulics Lab
This lab have all new comprehensive experimental set-ups catering to the requirements
of curriculum and above that. The Fluid Mechanics & hydraulics laboratory is fully
equipped with all the facilities and experimental setup through which students are
given a very good demonstration to understand various methods of measurement of
flow rates, capacity & velocity of water in tanks, closed pipes and open channels.
The setup comprise a verity of devices like venturimeter, orificemeter, rotameter,
notches etc for the estimation of minor and major losses in the pipes, verification
of Bernoullie’s Theorem, impact of jet on vane, hydraulic ram, Pelton Turbine, Francis
Turbine, Kaplan Turbine, Centrifugal Pump.
